What is a rotator cuff?
Your rotator cuff is a group of muscles and tendons surrounding the shoulder joint. This keeps the head of your upper arm bone inside the shoulder's socket. If you injure your rotator cuff, it can cause a dull ache in the shoulder, which often worsens when you use the arm that extends away from your body
Rotator cuff injuries are common and increase when you age. These injuries can also occur earlier in people who have jobs that require repeatedly performing overhead motions or improperly working out.
Sometimes, rotator cuff tears may occur due to a single injury. In any circumstance, you should get a medical evaluation as soon as possible to discuss the role of rehab or surgery. Extensive Rotator Cuff injuries may not be fixable, but strengthening and rehab or transfer of alternative tendons or joint replacement may be possible.
